Jenny asked:

Coral Calcium Helps to strengthen bones and teeth

What is Coral Calcium: Coral Calcium comes from the Sango Reefs around Okinawa, Japan. The method used to mine the coral in this product does not destroy living coral reefs. It contains approximately 70 naturally occurring trace minerals in varying amounts. The addition of 400 IU Vitamin D is intended to work synergistically with calcium to help enhance calcium absorption.Coral Calcium is intended to provide nutritive support for the development and maintenance of normal, healthy bones and teeth, proper nerve impulse transmission and muscle contraction. Coral Calcium provides pure, natural calcium plus a balanced ratio of magnesium and other essential trace minerals. This exceptional complex of fossilized Coral Calcium is naturally enriched with an abundance of trace minerals that allow for effortless absorption and optimal utilization. Extreme care is used when processing this nutrient rich macro-mineral to assure ideal calcium content, low heavy metal ratios, and zero irradiation/radioactivity.

What are Sango Coral Reefs:The Sango Coral Reefs are unique and aren’t found anywhere else in the world. Of the 2,500 species of coral, Sango Reef coral is the only coral with unique life-giving benefits. Scientific analysis of this particular coral has shown that it is composed of calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, essential marine trace minerals and many other microscopic elements essential to human life. Sango Reef coral contains the perfect biological 2:1 calcium/magnesium ratio in its natural state. The composition of the Sango Reef Coral is identical to that of the human skeleton and is widely used for bone grafts throughout the world.

Coral Calcium Research and Studies:The Coral Calcium story began when a journalist with the Guinness Book of Records was dispatched to interview a man named Shigechiyo Izumi who lived on a small island off the coast of Okinawa, Japan. Guinness was looking to verify and document that Mr. Izumi was the world’s oldest living human at age 115. During the interview, the journalist noticed that most of the islanders enjoyed the same good health as Mr. Izumi and that these islanders seldom died before age 95. Mr. Izumi submitted to a full medical check-up and at 115, doctors were amazed to find that he was still a very healthy man. This prompted a team of researchers to try to determine what was keeping these people in such incredible health. They found the water the islanders drank was different from water found anywhere else in the world. These islands were built up from coral reefs and when rain falls, it percolates coral deposits and picks up minerals and other elements that make it truly unique. This water contained many essential minerals that are chemically similar to the elements found in the human skeleton, body fluids and blood. It was also very alkaline, with a pH of 8.6. Scientists concluded that maintaining an alkaline pH appears to be essential for life health and vitality.

Coral Calcium balances your pH levels:Coral Calcium has a natural pH range of 10 -11 and has an alkalizing effect on the body, which can be of great support to those who need to offset acidity levels. The pH range is from 0 to 14, with 7.0 being neutral. Anything above 7.0 is alkaline, anything below 7.0 is considered acidic. Body acidity is quickly becoming a focus of research in the prevention of many illnesses that result from an increased acidity within the body. Scientists have found that healthy people have systems that are alkaline. In fact, its felt that an imbalanced pH can negatively affect the physical health of almost all body systems and lead to diseases including cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, kidney stones and many more. Because the modern diet is so high in acid-forming foods, most people are exposed to higher levels of acid on a daily basis. Coral Calcium supplements doesn”t cure disease. It simply keeps the pH level of our body fluids in sync so the body fights disease naturally and effectively.

Coral Calcium and Acid/Alkaline Balance:Coral Calcium contains the alkaline minerals, calcium and magnesium, as well as other essential trace minerals. An initial study on an alkaline mineral blend demonstrated an increase in blood alkalinity (pH) and buffering capacity. Proper alkalinity (pH) of the blood is critical for the overall health of the body. Our bodies are truly remarkable. The trillions of cells that make up the human body are slightly acidic and must exist in the slightly alkaline environment of body fluid. As each cell performs its’ special function, it secretes metabolic wastes which are acidic. These are the end products of cellular metabolism and must not be allowed to build up. The body then works to neutralize and detoxify these acids before they can build up to a level where they change the environment of the cell, overwhelm our system and lead to disease. Optimum alkalinity at the cellular level equates to optimum health. A healthy person’s pH level of their body fluids should be between 7.1 and 7.5.

Coral Calcium Health Benefits:

Research on Coral Calcium

September 21st, 2009 | Posted in Health   Comments Off
Robert Paris asked:

Research on coral calcium has been extensive, yet it is important for consumers to be aware of the source of their information. Since many scientists and researchers have been open about their findings on coral calcium, and more importantly, the benefits of coral calcium on health, many dishonest companies have jumped on the bandwagon. In other words, some companies that are claiming they sell only the highest quality coral calcium are in fact selling cheap substitutes.

Furthermore, research on coral calcium has shown that there are two distinct grades of coral calcium, one being far superior to the other. Fossilized beach coral does not retain its nutritional content, as exposure to the elements has weathered this coral over time. The result is that the mineral content is lower than that of marine coral, which is the other type of coral calcium.

Learn about the Research on Coral Calcium before You Buy

Marine coral calcium retains its entire mineral content because it is naturally pushed to the ocean floor by tiny organisms or by the constant surge of ocean water. It is then collected for use in natural supplements. This high quality marine coral is harvested in a completely ecologically safe manner, bringing no undue harm to the live coral reefs. In addition, the composition of this type of marine coral is most similar to that of the live coral.

This research on coral calcium has shown that marine grade coral can be absorbed by the body and utilized to its fullest capacity. For anyone who is worried about a calcium deficiency, it makes sense to take a natural coral calcium supplement that is easily assimilated by the body to help it better fight off illness and disease.

Calcium Plays an Important Role in the Way Our Body Functions

September 10th, 2009 | Posted in Health   Comments Off
Steven A Johnson asked:

Growing up we probably all have been told at one time or another to drink our milk and to eat low fat dairy products. The reason we were told this is because our parents and caregivers knew that by consuming calcium rich foods our bodies would greatly benefit and our bones and teeth would be healthy and strong.

They were right as it is true calcium plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth. However, calcium not only helps to keep our bones and teeth strong and healthy it is a very important and essential nutrient for the entire body. Calcium also plays a very important part in keeping our heart muscles healthy, it helps to control and regulate our heart beat and it help our nerves function and assists with many other bodily functions.

Everybody needs calcium in their diets. Young children and teenagers need sufficient calcium in their diets so they can take full advantage of the calcium storage in their bones. As we age, we need to get sufficient dietary calcium to help us minimize the loss of calcium from our bones because the majority of the body’s calcium, approximately ninety-nine percent, is stored in your bones. We also need an adequate amount of calcium in the body because the other one percent is stored in the rest of the body and is for all other bodily functions.

Some good sources of calcium are low fat dairy products, fruits, and fortified cereals and grains. However, due to processing and manufacturing the majority of the nutrients in the food we eat are depleted. So, it is sad to say, we really are not getting as much calcium from our diet as we think we are. It is safe to say that it makes a lot of sense to take calcium supplements along with eating a healthy diet to make sure that our bodies get what it needs.

Even though supplementation is a good idea you should know that not all calcium supplements are created equal. One such calcium supplement that is well absorbed by the body and is very beneficially all bodily functions is called coral calcium. But what is Coral Calcium? Simply put, Coral Calcium is just calcium. However, coral calcium benefits have an advantage over other types of calcium. Marine coral calcium has a wide range and optimal mix of major and trace minerals. It contains calcium, magnesium and trace minerals, and the ratios of these minerals match the human body’s ratio perfectly.

Some forms of coral calcium supplements are inferior because some of the other vital nutrients have been lost since they have been baked by the sun for thousands of years. Marine grade coral calcium is harvested miles away from shore below sea level. All of the essential minerals are preserved by nature and made available by carefully removing them from the sea floor away from the live reefs as not to disturb them. Coral Calcium Supplements also contain over seventy other trace minerals and are essential to good health. Preferred Coral Calcium Plus contains nature’s balance of 2 to 1 ratio of calcium to magnesium. Any form of land grade calcium does not have this ratio. Magnesium is critical for the absorption of calcium. Land grade or fossilized coral contains only about 1% magnesium.

Calcium for Beautiful and Healthy Body

September 4th, 2009 | Posted in Nutrition   Comments Off
Rachel Broune asked:

Calcium is an essential mineral with a wide range of biological roles and is arguably one of the most important minerals you should take in order to maintain good health. So make it a point to drink milk regularly and also consume other calcium rich foods, so as to promote your health fitness.Calcium is the mineral most likely to be deficient in the average diet. About 99 percent of the calcium in the human body is held in the bones and teeth. A greater percentage of elemental calcium means that fewer tablets are needed to achieve the desired calcium intake. The remaining 1 percent of calcium circulates in the bloodstream, where it performs a variety of important functions.

Women who suffer from PMS appear to have elevated levels of these hormones during their menstrual cycle. Calcium (Ca) and magnesium (Mg) have become the “Gold Standard” when discussing supplements, mineral ratios, paired cell receptors, or many nutrition-related health issues in general. A coral calcium deficiency can lead to the following problems: aching joints, brittle nails, eczema, elevated blood cholesterol, heart palpitations, hypertension. The best sources for calcium intake are low fat dairy products, fruits and vegetables.

How calcium is advantageous for the health?

It helps to contract muscles and helps regulate the contractions of the heart.

Calcium supplementation has shown to be helpful in protecting against precancerous changes in the colon.

To do regular weight-bearing exercise to maximize bone strength and bone density to help prevent osteoporosis later in life.

Aids in the functioning of various enzymes within the body.

Coral calcium is vital for the formation of strong bones and teeth and for the maintenance of healthy gums.

This is helpful for the for blood coagulation, nerve function, production of energy, the beating of the heart, proper immune function and muscle contraction.

High calcium levels interfere with Vitamin D and subsequently inhibit the vitamin’s cancer-protective

effect unless extra amounts of Vitamin D are supplemented.

This ishelpful for the crucial role in the transformation of lightto electrical impulses in the retina.

The steroids and aniticonvulsants (anti-siezure drugs), interfer with bone metabolism and taking a supplemental calcium will help with that.

Calcium protects your heart – If you’re low on calcium, researchers say, you’re more likely to have high blood pressure. Your body releases the hormone calcitriol in response to a calcium shortage, and calcitriol acts on the smooth muscle walls of your arteries, constricting them and elevating your blood pressure.

A small quntity of calcium is always carried in the blood stream in which it helps to prevent haemorrhages.

Jackie Johnson asked:

Coral Calcium capsules were designed by Robert Barefoot and are the best solution to total health and longevity for everyone. His goal is to restore the health of everyone in America by providing the missing deficiencies people need. These supplements are natural and come all the way from Japan.

Coral Calcium is a natural mineral product which is derived from the remains of the dead coral. This coral is naturally sloughed off the reefs around the islands of Okinawa, Japan. It is proven to have the same minerals found inside of the body’s tissues, cartilage and skin. This collection of minerals found under the water, around the islands, is highly regulated by the officials in Japan. It is considered by the Japanese to be the Gold standard and no other product on the market contains it. These supplements can be found at http://www.coralsupreme.com.

Magnesium works in the body in many ways. One important function of Coral Calcium capsules is that they assist with helping the body absorb calcium properly. This results in strong bones and stopping deterioration in the elderly. Many elderly people often fall down and break bones because they are weak and when they fall the bones break easier too. Magnesium is essential but it needs to be consumed in the right amount along with additional minerals to provide the right mix.

Only Robert Barefoot’s Coral Calcium Capsules provide the right mixture so the body has what it needs to absorb calcium properly and more. The body will also be alkalized when taking these products. Total health is what this supplement provides by reducing inflammation, giving more energy, sleeping well, absorbing oxygen in the blood, and much more.

This product is totally natural. There are no chemicals included. The vitamins found in it include B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12, Folic Acid, Vitamin A, D3, C, E, and even more. how to raise saltwater ph?

August 31st, 2009 | Posted in Fish   Comments Off
culinarydreamz asked:

I have a 37 gallon saltwater reef tank. It’s been up for a little Liover a year now it alwasy seems to be low. the RO water I use has a 7.0 ph and I either add the instant ocean which will bring the ph to 8.3 or if I’m just topping off, I will buffer with the “reef builder” which I know can raise alk. Corals and fish look GREAT!!!!!

~BUT~
I have noticed that my corals are NOT multiplying. like my zoas are popping new polyps like other peoples tanks,

tank stats:
water volume: 32gallons
LIVE rock: 65 lbs
live sand 45lbs
Temps 77-80
salinity 1.024/1.025
ammonia 0
nitrate 0
nitrite 10
ph 7.5
phosphates 0
calcium 440
mag: 1330
alk 9

Running one 175 watt 14k halide, 4 22watt t5’s, a coralife superskimmer 125 and ALOT of powerhead flow! I am pushing about 1000gph and that is turning my entire tank volume over 35x an hour. Just recently added all that flow.

Any ideas?

The Truth About Coral Calcium

August 27th, 2009 | Posted in Non Fiction   Comments Off
Scott White asked:

When limestone, which contains fossilized coral deposits is smashed down, a salt, known as coral calcium is harvested from it. For the most part, limestone is used to produce coral calcium because the ocean’s coral reefs are protected and a crucial element in the ocean’s ecosystem. However some illegal harvesting of live oceanic coral reefs to obtain coral calcium salts does occur which threatens the sustained existence of many of the ocean’s living creatures.

There has been an enormous amount of outrageous claims made about the supposed miraculous curing powers of coral calcium. It is touted by many, especially by those selling it, to be the miracle cure for cancer, as well as a number of other medical afflictions. However there is little evidence available at this time to substantiate those claims. The widespread inaccuracies about the benefits of coral calcium is definitely one of its downfalls.

People looking to improve their health and prolong their life are duped into believing that this supplement can protect them against every sickness known to afflict the human race. Truthfully, protection from disease is found through the combined efforts of diet, exercise, immunization, and avoiding exposure to disease causing elements. It is truth that calcium supplements can be very helpful to those suffering from calcium deficiencies, but coral calcium may not be the best choice in a calcium supplement. Most people get all of the calcium they need through food sources and do not need supplements.

Coral calcium has also been found to contain mercury, lead, and other metals that are toxic and can cause devastating diseases and even death when introduced into the human body. When the level of these metals rises above levels that are considered to be harmless to most people, death can occur. Children and adults whose immune systems are compromised can die even from low levels of these metals in the body. It is through humankind’s prediliction towards pollution that is responsible for these toxic metals getting into coral reefs. Air pollution which then settles onto the reefs contaminates the coral.

Shellfish reside in coral reefs and are found in the smashed down calcium salt from limestone which is another one of its downfalls. Shellfish poses a high risk for serious or deadly allergic reactions for people with allergies to shellfish. Those allergic reactions can include rashes, hives, throat swelling, rapid heart beat, and even heart failure.

Coral calcium is very expensive when compared to other forms of calcium supplements and it also has a poor absorption rate within the body. However, purified calcium carbonates are considerably less expensive than coral calcium and its absorption rate is also higher within most healthy people. Not too mention that the kidneys have to work harder to process coral calcium in the body and this added work poses a real health threat to people whose kidneys are already ineffectual due to certain kidney conditions.

If you feel that you are deficient in calcium it is a good idea to discuss this concern with your doctor prior to starting a regimen of calcium supplements. Your doctor will first want to conduct medical tests to discover the levels of calcium in your body and to determine if you are suffering from a condition that can cause calcium deficiency, then treat any condition that is present and advise you on the safest way to increase the amount of calcium in your body should you need to.

The Benefits of Coral Calcium

August 23rd, 2009 | Posted in Supplements And Vitamins   Comments Off
Fabiola Castillo asked:

The benefits of coral calcium have been known to some for centuries. Coral calcium’s benefits have been made famous by the farmers and residents of Okinawa in Japan. Feeding coral calcium to their chickens and their cattle, they get twice as many eggs and twice as many gallons of milk than the average chicken or cow produce elsewhere. Feeding coral calcium to themselves, they have attained an average life expectancy of 105. The benefits of coral calcium for them also extend to a more youthful appearance, more energy right into very old age, and vastly fewer ravages of old age including diseases that people in the modernized Western world take for granted: Alzheimer’s, cancer, osteoporosis.

The benefits of coral calcium stem from this sea-substance’s great abundance of minerals. Coral calcium contains 74 minerals. Coral consists of pre-digested ionized oceanic minerals that have been secreted by tiny sea creatures. Since these minerals have all been predigested and ionized, they are easy for the human body to absorb into the blood and tissues once they are digested. Minerals are extremely important for optimal human health.

Minerals increase the metabolism by acting synergistically with vitamins, glucose, enzymes, fats, and proteins to catalyze them and break them down into the usable chemical complexes that the body truly needs. In this way, minerals and coral calcium contribute to a healthy weight–and therefore weight loss if it is necessary–and they make the human body far healthier and able to stave off aging for much longer. Minerals also interact synergistically with each other, so the more you get at one time the better. Seventy-four minerals at once is a great abundance of minerals.

Minerals greatly contribute to the creation of an internal bodily environment that is more alkaline than acidic. A more alkaline body, which is what we are by our nature (natural human body ph is 7.4), readily resists a vast array of pathogens and potential diseases that need heavy amounts of acid to thrive–this includes cancer.

The calcium component of coral calcium in particular strengthens the electricity of the heart and all of the body’s muscles. We already know well how calcium also enhances the strength of teeth and bones, preventing tooth decay and osteoporosis. In fact, orthopedic surgeons use coral for bone grafts because the body readily takes it and accepts it. And, calcium seems to play a strong role in DNA replication.

If you want to get the benefits of coral calcium and seek to take a supplement, make sure you take one that includes at least 400 mg of vitamin D along with each calcium capsule. Vitamin D interacts with calcium and allows the body to absorb it into cells and tissues. Without vitamin D, calcium intake is largely useless. In the case of coral calcium, this would mean that a great deal of the minerals never get absorbed by the body. The body naturally takes in vitamin D from the sunlight as well as fish, meat, eggs, and fortified milk.
